The 38th Annual Conference
and Theatre Tour

Today's New York

July 16 - 19, 2014

2014 Annual Conference

In the city that never sleeps, neither did we!

With over 30 educational sessions, 17 theatre tours - including a ghost tour - and more networking opportunities than ever before, the National Conference July 16-19 in New York City was the largest and most important gathering in League history.

Our educational program this year included special intensive tracks for marketing and fundraising as well as sessions on restoration, safety, technology and programming along with important case studies of best practices from around the nation. In total, we had more than 35 hours of historic theatre education - truly something for everyone.

Our Keynote speaker was Karen Brooks Hopkins, President of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, our nation's oldest performing arts center.

Disney, Nederlander and Shubert, our national partners, were joined by Jujamcyn in opening the doors of America's premiere Broadway theatres including discounts to shows and even a late-night ghost tour and Ziegfeld Follies costume viewings. We even had a special group photo in the middle of Times Square on the world renowned red steps, reserved just for LHAT!

After touring Brooklyn Academy of Music, we were among the first to see the nearly completed - and truly magnificent - renovation of the Kings Theatre.

Attendees had an opportunity to visit the Apollo, Lincoln Center, Radio City, Walter Kerr, New Amsterdam, Belasco, Richard Rogers and witnessed the presentations of the 2014 Awards for Outstanding Historic Theatre and Outstanding Individual Contribution at New York City Center, winner of last year's Outstanding Historic Theatre Award.

More than 45 exhibitors shared their latest products and services representatives from with more than 115 different historic theatre organizations across the United States and Canada.

Thank you to the more than 375 people who attended and contributed to the success of the League's 38th Annual Conference & Theatre Tour in New York City!

It was the largest and most important event in LHAT history!
