Written Remarks
"It was such a pleasure to see so many of you wonderful folks at the conference again this year. Navigating conference attendance with a four-month old was a new challenge for me this year, but absolutely WELL WORTH the effort. Though I continue to digest notes from various sessions, I returned to my organization with fresh energy and inspiration and am excited to be able to implement some of the shared best practices that make sense for us up here in Bangor, Maine. You all do such an impressive and bang up job. This conference has become a highlight of my year."
-- Marcie Bramucci, Managing Director, Penobscot Theatre Company, Bangor, ME
"The two board members from the Champlain Valley Film Society who attended the LHAT convention were blown away by the enthusiasm and the very helpful comments by LHAT members and staff. They couldn't have been happier with the conference."
-- David Reuther, Champlain Valley Film Society, Willsboro, NY
"It was an amazing experience and one that I will treasure. I returned to work energized with new outlook and focus. I look forward to hopefully attending future conferences. Thank you for all of the work you do!"
-- Joe Guglielmo, Director of Audience Services, ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage, Boston, MA
"Thank you all for an outstanding conference. The experience was memorable in so many wonderful ways. I cannot tell you how fulfilling it was to see so many energized and engaged participants. This is the most impressive conference I have attended."
-- Dee Smolik, President, Plymouth Soundings, LLC, Loudon, TN
"Enjoyed this conference so much. Came home with a head full and inspired to keep on keeping on. I thoroughly enjoyed how this conference motivated us to think beyond ourselves. We are so focused on "butts in seats" that we do forget that many of us are surrounded by community!! This was a great direction to take and I hope to hear and learn more along these lines in the future. Loved the success stories! It can be done!"
-- Sue Spencer, Artistic Director, Struthers Library Theatre, Warren, PA
"I always learn the most from other members who are out there facing the same challenges as I am."
-- Randal Conry, Operations Director, Perot Theatre/TRAHC, Texarkana, TX
Thank you LHAT for the amazing Conference - and to the gorgeous Proctors facility for hosting. I can't rank Conferences as to which I liked best because they're all tied for first place. Always so great.
-- Erin Wilson, Theatre Director, Wealthy Theatre, Grand Rapids, MI
"Thanks to all for a really fine conference. Our group had a good time and brought away lots of good ideas. Supremely organized and executed. Congratulations!"
-- Bill Hausrath, Chairman, Wayne Theatre Alliance, Waynesboro, VA
"A fantastic conference and terrific value. I loved the dine-arounds."
-- John Bell, President & CEO, Tampa Theatre, Tampa, FL
"Although the League is an association of historic theatre operators, what they do is build hope and restore the community's soul through conscious stewardship of the city's heart and culture. And a bunch of other stuff, you know. That stuff includes continuous reinvestment in restoring and rehabilitating capital assets. This is unique -- it's not an arts presenter or film exhibitor, it's not a preservationist, it's not a developer or redevelopment agency, it's not a community organizer, but it's BOTH/AND all those things. The field will be improved if the conference brings us jointly to such a conclusion, and gets us to consider our name as part of our true identity."
-- Lance Olson, Associate Director, ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage, Boston, MA
"The staff & board of LHAT do a remarkable job at making each conference unique and extremely beneficial. All of the Tools & Techniques sessions which I chose to attend were extremely informative & helpful and the presenters well chosen . . . . I particularly enjoyed Mr. Landesman’s address – what a treat to have him as the keynote speaker!"
-- Dorie Smiley, Director of Operations, Academy of Fine Arts, Lynchburg, VA
"Keep up with the great sessions and opportunities to talk with peers."
-- Alex Nerad, Operations Director, Egyptian Theatre, DeKalb, IL
