GENERAL MANAGER
Mahalia Jackson Theatre of the Performing Arts
New Orleans, Louisiana

Arts Center Enterprises – New Orleans, LLC (ACE) is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of General Manager for the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans, Louisiana.

ACE is the successful respondent to the City of New Orleans RFP for the management of the city-owned Mahalia Jackson Theater, which is scheduled to re-open in January of 2009 following a $14 million renovation. The venue will be home to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Orleans Opera Association, the New Orleans Ballet Association, the Broadway Series, along with a wide variety of other performing arts attractions. ACE anticipates 100-130 performances in the first year of operations with attendance between 130,000-185,000 patrons.

ACE also owns the historic Saenger Theater in New Orleans, and is currently preparing for the renovation and expansion of this historic theatre, a process expected to take 2-3 years. Both venues are located in downtown New Orleans within blocks of each other. ACE will eventually be responsible for the operations of New Orleans two premiere performing arts facilities.

The applicant should have at least five years senior management experience in performing arts facility management with increasing levels of responsibility. A Bachelor's degree is required and advanced degree in arts management or business management is preferred. The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of performing arts center management including administration of rental agreements, planning, monitoring and directing the event coordination, front-of-house staffing, parking, security, accounting & payroll, client & governmental relations and outside contractor service functions. Experience in marketing and promotion is a plus.

The applicant must be able to work extended and irregular hours including nights, week-ends and holidays, as needed. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other standard office equipment is required. Submit resume, with cover letter and salary requirements to:
