Becky Hancock has nearly 15 years of fund development, event planning, and project management in the nonprofit sector. As Executive Director of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation since 2013, she oversees all activity, serves as the public face of the organization, and works with the HTTF Board of Directors to preserve and maintain this important community asset and Official State Theatre of Tennessee. The Theatre is active 200+ days annually, presenting 40 touring concerts, 6 Broadway titles, 10 classic films, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Knoxville Opera, and numerous community and private events each year. In 2005, the Theatre completed a $30 million comprehensive renovation and has since welcomed 1.2+ million patrons and helped revitalize downtown Knoxville.

In 1994 Becky earned a Music History and German degree at the University of Tennessee. From 1996-2000, she was a publicist for Hemsing Associates in NYC, a PR firm representing classical musicians and performing arts organizations.

From 2001-2007, she was contracted by AC Entertainment to manage the daily operations of Tennessee Theatre, thus, becoming actively involved in its renovation and restoration, which was completed in 2005. She participated in both operational/programmatic planning and assisting the Board in fundraising.

From 2007-2013, as Assistant Director of Knox Heritage, a preservation advocacy organization, Becky coordinated all fundraising and communication efforts, planned major special events, and worked effectively with board members, volunteers, and donors.

Becky is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville 2006; a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Tennesseans for the Arts, and the 91.9 Inc. advisory board for WUOT-FM, the Knoxville NPR affiliate. She is a past board member of Historic Rugby, TN, the historic Bijou Theatre, and The Joy of Music School, where she also spent time as a volunteer music teacher. She spends her free time rowing, renovating her historic home, and making music with friends.
